The Baton Rouge Woodworkers Club Tours Gator

The Baton Rouge Woodworkers Club was invited to Gator Millworks to take a tour of the facility. Members Jackie Parker, Rick Albrecht and George Campagna shared their thoughts on the growth and innovation of woodworking in today’s world while reminiscing on their time in the field and the equipment they used.

“A lot of us work with tools that we’ve received from our grandparents and our parents, so to see something like the automation, the computerization, the accuracy of some of the tools that are used in this facility really makes us kind of jealous,” Rick Albrecht, Member of the BR Woodworkers Club. The Members were able to talk to many of Gator’s crew members, see all areas of production, and take a look at the latest technology in millwork. “Compared to what we do,” says Jackie Parker, “it’s like going from the old West in the 1800s to the 21st century.”
