Gator Millworks Produces Plastic Face Shields
When the COVID-19 pandemic began, the world faced shortages of essential medical supplies, and businesses everywhere were forced to adapt. For our team, that meant taking the skills and precision we’ve honed through decades of custom millwork and applying them to something new. Traditionally specializing in high-quality architectural woodwork, we found a way to keep our staff working while helping those on the front lines.
Instead of wood, we turned to plastic. Using our advanced equipment and production expertise, we began manufacturing medical-grade face shields to help healthcare professionals stay safe while treating patients. What started as a quick pivot to meet an immediate need became a company-wide effort to contribute to our community in a meaningful way.
Our designers and fabricators worked side by side to develop an effective, comfortable and safe piece of protective equipment that could be made quickly and distributed efficiently. We’re proud of how our team responded to an unpredictable challenge with ingenuity and heart. It’s proof that craftsmanship isn’t limited by material, but driven by purpose.
